Description A quick gestural drawing of a pool player at Juanita's in Little Rock turned into a colorful abstracted design. The original painting was acrylic washes over a pencil drawing on a vellum finish paper. While the colors are not accurate in a realistic sense, they are very much in the mood and feel of a bar that was lit by neon beer signs.
Robert Bean, Little Rock Member Since November 2007 Artist Statement
Robert has been a practicing artist for over a decade with his work having appeared in juried shows and is in private collections nationally. Most recently his work could be found in the 2006 MOAK and the 20th Annual Small Works on Paper.
While some artists see the title as a secondary trait to the image itself, Robert strives to combine both title and image into a complete work. Using the title as an "opening line", the artist hopes to bring the viewer into the world being created while allowing the viewer to complete the story.
